Session: The potential for sequestration through land restoration

For the past twenty years, Peter-Jon (PJ) Waddell has worked and travelled extensively throughout rangeland environments. Work commenced in the rangelands with a mineral exploration company based in Leonora. In 2000 PJ joined the WA Department of Agriculture as a Resource Management and Protection Officer in Kalgoorlie. After being seconded to the Centre for the Management of Arid Environments, as a landscape ecologist, PJ was involved in trialling rangeland rehabilitation treatments for the Ecosystem Management Understanding (E.M.U.) project. Since 2006 he has continued developing his understanding of landscape ecology through managing the WA Department of Agriculture and Food’s Rangeland Survey Project. PJ has a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Biology) and a Master of Science (Geology) from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia.
