David Hodgkinson

Session: International climate change politics and what the Paris Agreement means for Australia

David Hodgkinson is a partner at law firm HodgkinsonJohnston, an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia, and executive director of the UNFCCC-accredited NGO EcoCarbon Inc (in which capacity he attended COP21 in Paris). He was formerly Legal Director at IATA (the organisation of the world’s airlines) in Montreal and Geneva.
Earlier in his career he was senior legal research officer at the High Court of Australia, where he worked for Justice Sir William Deane. He was also a postgraduate fellow at Columbia University in New York.
His publications include the books "Global Climate Change: Australian Law and Policy" (LexisNexis) and the loose-leaf service "Australian Climate Change Law and Policy." He was also the Australian rapporteur on climate change for the International Academy of Comparative Law.
